Andrew’s 40th Birthday Party

Held at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Andrew’s 40th birthday party bash was epic and original! Guests were greeted by a green wall with the birthday boy’s name emblazoned in gold while a ‘tequila fairy’ floated down from the ceiling to fill champagne glasses with tequila.

Models in full body paint escorted guests to the  Art Gallery’s rooftop party space where they could have their photo taken with ‘living’ chandeliers. The dance party kicked into high gear with LED dancers and an LED drummer. A fabulous night like this wouldn’t be complete without a midnight snack, provided by Mom’s Grilled Cheese Truck.

Christina & Andrew

This wedding epitomized the rustic elegant barn wedding.  The ceremony took place at the White Album wedding chapel and then guests headed to Saar Bank Farms in Abbotsford for the reception. There were so many fun details carried throughout this wedding include the handmade jam, wine & lavendar pouches made by the Bride that were given out as guest favors.

Violette & Chen

This intimate wedding took place at the Brock House Restaurant in the month of March so unlike many of the weddings that you see at this venue, the ceremony was held under a tent and the reception was in the conservatory.

Most of the 40 guests flew in from China so the classic West Coast backdrop of water and mountains was important to the couple and set the scene for this special day.

One of the cutest parts of this wedding was seeing the couple’s 2 poodles walk down the aisle as their flower girls.

The Original Bridal Swap Recap

It just keeps getting better and better!  This year we saw another 1000 attendees come through the doors of The Roundhouse Community Centre where Brides to Be found their perfect wedding treasures, exchanged stories with Past Brides and even found their perfect wedding dress.

The Original Bridal Swap is changing the way Brides shop for their weddings.  They can find the decor & wedding dress of their dreams and make it all work within their budget.   And then once their wedding is over, they can pay it forward and give the same opportunity to other future Brides.

The energy and excitement in the room when the Brides were hunting for their treasures was palpable.  We saw lots of Brides leaving with tons of great finds, including vintage plates, parasols, chalkboards, birdcages, glassware, linens and lots of other vintage items that were really in demand this year.  We’re excited to see what next year brings.

Thank you to everyone that participated in this year’s Original Bridal Swap including the Past Brides, Exhibitors and the DreamGroup Team that made it all happen.

Looking forward to next year!
